Year of the Fire Rooster was celebrated early through series of activities at Edsa Shangri-La’s 11th Spring Film Festival last January 25-29.
In cooperation with Ateneo de Manila University’s Ricardo Leong Center for Chinese Studies, Ateneo Celadon and the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China, six feature films of different genre were available for public viewing.
The six films – A Complicated Story, Book of Love, Everybody’s Fine, Horseplay, Red Amnesia, and Wolf Totem – offer many sights into Chinese life and built an assorted depiction of approaches and styles to filmmaking as well.
Aside from the public film screening, there have also been pastel painting workshop, music concert and painting exhibit.
This was the 11th installment of the annual Spring Film Festival which was started dating back to 2006.
